Client: The Academy Awards (AMPAS, or “The Oscars”)
Role: Sr. Copywriter / Creative Consultant
Assignments: Write a wide range of copy for various marketing initiatives, including overall branding, social media, video (TV and digital), and write the weekly newsletter (see samples below). In 2019-20, helped ideate and launch A.frame, the Academy Award’s ‘Guide to Movies.’ A.frame provides stories written by Hollywood filmmakers as well as other movie and industry news. I oversee all SEO activity, as well as overseeing content creation, editing, and overall site UI/UX.
Client: ExakTime is a mobile workforce app that helps contract-based companies keep better tabs on their employees, especially ones that use outdated systems and/or has workers across multiple locations. Role: Copywriter Assignment: I worked with designers to create several different B2B creative deliverables including direct mail packaging to high-stake clients, email campaigns, social post(s), and print campaigns to support the sales staff. Client: Office 365 provides flexible and familiar tools for collaboration across teams, devices, and platforms. Role: Copywriter Assignment: Come up with different types of Facebook content that the brand could publish from their page for small business owners and entrepreneurs using the different collaborative features of Microsoft Office 365. Client: GOBankingRates.com is a personal finance news and information website. Role: SEO copywriter Assignment: I researched, curated, and edited dozens of finance and sports-related content — all optimized for organic SEO traffic and elite SERP ranking.
Client: Master of the Mix is a reality television series and disc jockey competition that Smirnoff sponsored as their own. Role: Principal
Assignment: Smirnoff + VH1 tapped my blog (named RagerOnions.com at the time) to take on a grassroots marketing campaign for their competition-based EDM show. We decided to pump out weekly content about the show that differentiates itself from other blogs that were also promoting the campaign.
Client: Lexus Role: Principal
Assignment: Create, implement, and execute a local marketing campaign to drive young business professionals to LEXUS #WinterHeat party. I used all channels at our disposal to inform/encourage readers of THESIXTHIRTY.com to come, bring friends, and have fun. As the sole local promoter for the event, our goal was to get roughly 500 people. Over 1,200 people attended.
Client: Sam’s Club has wholesale prices for everything. In this case, batteries. Big batteries. Role: Jr. Copywriter Assignment: Relabel the entire battery center for Sam’s Club official online battery database. I worked with AD and programmers to build, develop, and refine the entire Sam’s Club online battery store.
Client: Killian’s Irish Red is a beer with Irish heritage, allegedly based on a recipe created at Lett’s Brewery in Enniscorthy, Ireland, in 1864. Role: Jr. Copywriter Solution: We were assigned to create holiday beer-themed posts for their Facebook page, so I worked with the Art Director to shoot photo based on the overall concepts I had/wrote copy for (below).
